War Service

After 10 weeks training at Blackboy Hill camp, Henry was allocated to the 15th reinforcement draft for the 11th Battalion, and he travelled with them to Alexandria in Egypt.

Soon after their arrival in Egypt he was transferred to the 51st Battalion as part of the reorganisation and expansion of the AIF. Henry then travelled to Marseilles in France with the 51st Battalion.

On 29 Sep 1916 he was detached to 4th Division Base Details in Étaples and two days later was transferred again, this time to the 4th Australian Division Sanitary Section.

Returned from leave 1 hour late and drunk on 4 May 1918, and lost 3 days pay for the hour, and was admonished for the drunken state. He was seen by the 12th Australian Field Ambulance the following day, and was with them for 4 days seeking treatment for an injury to his left arm.

In Feb 1919 he was returned to Australia with "Debility" given as a reason for the priority allocated to his return.

Discharged 5th Military District 8 May 1919.

Post War
