Evelyn enlisted on 8 May 1942 as an Aircraftwoman and was mustered as a Trainee Cook at [[No. 4 RAAF Recruiting Centre]]. On 9 May 1942 she was posted to [[No. 1 WAAAF Training Depot RAAF]] then located at Toorak in Melbourne, and between 2 and 13 June 1942 participated in a Drill Training Course run at HQ Ascot Vale. This was followed from 15 June to 9 Aug 1942 with a Cooks Course, both of which she passed and was now a Group IV Cook. On 14 Aug 1942 she was posted to Station HQ [[RAAF Base Point Cook]]. However, on 11 Sep 1944 she was posted back to [[RAAF Base Point Cook]] in Victoria. Pre War

Five year old Evelyn, along with Nora (8), Vera (12), Kenneth (15) Margery (21) and their father Edward (45) sailed for Fremantle on SS Balranald from London on 21 Aug 1924. In 1930 she is in a photo taken at the Mandogalup, Peel Estate 7 Mile School, with her residence being Block 667 of that estate.

War Service

Evelyn enlisted on 8 May 1942 as an Aircraftwoman and was mustered as a Trainee Cook at No. 4 RAAF Recruiting Centre. On 9 May 1942 she was posted to No. 1 WAAAF Training Depot RAAF then located at Toorak in Melbourne, and between 2 and 13 June 1942 participated in a Drill Training Course run at HQ Ascot Vale.
