War Service
On enlistment Ted was mustered as a Trainee Mechanic and underwent a Recruit Drill Course. Course completed, on 24 Sep 1940, he was posted to No. 1 School of Technical Training RAAF
On 26 Dec 1940 Ted was awarded 7 days Confined to Barracks for being AWOL for 7 hours and 15 minutes. Promoted Leading Aircraftman on 1 Jul 1941
8 Feb 1941 re-mustered as a Flight Mechanic AWOL from 12 - 13 Oct 1941 and again awarded 7 days Confined to Barracks.
2 May 1942 re-mustered as a Fitter, reverting to the rank of Aircraftman. On 18 Jul 1942 Ted again transgressed against military law, earning for himself 2 days Confined to Barracks, and the forfeiture of 2 days pay. On 1 Sep 1942 Ted was again promoted to Leading Aircraftman.
On 9 Sep 1943 Ted married Nancy Bridget Gervase in Perth. Nancy died on 9 Mar 2005 aged 87 at Woodlands.
On 1 Jun 1945 Ted was promoted Temporary Corporal
discharged 17 Dec 1945.
