Betty Margaret O'Reilly was born on 07 September 1930 in Mt Lawley. Her father was Michael Glendinning and her mother was Fanny Glendinning (nee Green). She was the granddaughter of William Binns Green and Annie Yates Green (nee Walker).

Betty married Laurence Sylvester O'Reilly in 1950 in Perth. They had five children.
