Brief History

Mobilised originally as the 4th Australian Casualty Clearing Station at Narellan in NSW during December 1941. They accompanied the 2nd Australian Infantry Division to Claremont in WA during July 1942. In August they relieved the 8th Australian Casualty Clearing Station (CCS) at Helena Vale, before moving to Moora in October. In January 1943 the Light Section moved to Gingin. In March the 4th Australian CCS relieved the 8th Australian CCS in Mullewa, and in April 1943 they were renamed 104th Australian Casualty Clearing Station.
