Early Life
William Binns Green was born c1862 and was christened on 13th March 1862 at Saint Chad, Lichfield, Staffordshire, England. His parents were Thomas and Jane Green.
Marriage
William married Annie Yates (nee Walker Green) on 9 December 1888 in Chaddesden, Derbyshire. William and Annie had five sons William, Henry (Harry), Frank, Wilfred and Thomas, and six daughters Jane, Annie, Emily, Hilda and Fanny and Ada.
Immigration
In 1880 aged 18, William arrived in Western Australia on board the “Charlotte Padbury”. William returned to England in 1885.
Electoral Rolls
According to the electoral roll in the house was William’s father Thomas who was the farm bailiff and his wife. In 1891 William and Annie were living in London, Lichfield Staffordshire with his brother Arthur. Three farm servants were recorded as being present on the night of the census. The census of 1901 records the family as living in Curborough and Elmhurst, Lichfield, Staffordshire. In the household that night was William, Annie, daughters Jane, Annie and Emily, Hilda May Green, Fanny and sons William, Henry [Harry] and Thomas. On 7th April 1905 William and young son William departed England on board the “Ormuz” heading for Fremantle. Annie and the remaining children departed England on the 23 March 1906 on board the “Oroya”. William's occupation in England was a Farmer. After arriving in Australia he went into partnership with Mr. F. Powell on he property "Wungong Farm" under the name "Green and Powell", where they had a dairy herd.
Death
William died suddenly in December 1908 aged 47 and was buried in the “Old Church of England cemetery, Kelmscott” [St. Mary in the Valley].
