War Service
On 29 Mar 1942 John enlisted in the Volunteer Defence Corps at Maddington and was allocated to the 2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion. From 15 Mar until 27 May 1943 John attended a course at the 4th Australian Signals Training School. John was discharged on 27 Aug 1943
