Early Life
George James Pallett was born on 6 November 1907 in Lambeth, London. His parents were James and Maude Pallett.
Marriage
In 1931 George married his 1st wife, Laura Goodfellow, in Southwark London. In 1950 he married his 2nd wife Lily Lynne Pallett nee Bennett. He was known to have 1 son (Chris) and 1 daughter (Ann).
Achievements
During the 1930s George was an athlete who represented England, notably in the long jump at the 1934 British Empire Games in London. In 1968 George was awarded an MBE - late: Higher Executive Officer, Home Office.
Arrival in Australia
He immigrated from England to Australia on 1 December 1967 on the ship "Fairsky"
Electoral Roll Information
According to UK electoral rolls in 1939 George's occupation was a Clerical Officer - CID New Scotland Yard. ARP Warden at Office of CID. Later Australian electoral rolls show that in 1980 George lived at Lot 18 Westborne Road, Roleystone.
Death
George died at the age of 88 on 26 March 1996.
