On 23 Mar 1942 Eric enlisted in the Volunteer Defence Corps at Armadale and was allocated to the 2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion. Along with the rest of his unit he was placed in Reserve on 1 May 1945. Jessie Esther Cole ??
