Alfred is included in the Nominal Roll of men who served in the 15th VDC Battalion included in the booklet "Wheatbelt Warriors - The Story of the 15th (W.A.) Battalion Volunteer Defence Corps" by Paul de Pierres published in 1993. Listed as being in the Bruce Rock unit, He would have been a member of either the HQ's of "A" Company, or No 1 Platoon which were based here, although his records have him as residing at Korbel, mid way between Merredin and Bruce Rock.
