Thomas (Snr) Buckingham was born in North Devonshire, England on 11 September 1808.
Marriage
Thomas married Mary Buckingham (nee Chauter/Chanter) in Devon, United Kingdom on 23 October 1835. They had eleven children: Maria, Thomas, Mary, Alexander, Betsy, Caroline, Jane, William, Ellen, John, Hugh James.

According to the electoral roll they lived in Moore River/Gingin area before settling in Roleystone.
