Married Violet during September 1920 (not in WA). Violet died on 6 Jul 1963, aged 67 in Queens Park

War Service WWI

Served between 1915 and 1918 in the Australian 19th Battalion AIF, before being discharged as unfit as a result of wounds received in combat. (Gun Shot wound to his left shoulder). His enlistment papers also mention 2 years prior experience with the Royal Air Force.

War Service WW2

Enlisted in South Perth and taken on strength of D Company of the 2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion. On 23 Sep 1942 he was appointed Lance Corporal, and on 4 Dec 1942 he was promoted Corporal. Fred reverted to Private on 25 May 1944 at his own request. He was subsequently discharged on 15 Oct 1945.
