On 21 Nov 1936 John married Burnice Felicia Beryl Pascoe (1912 - 1995). Burnice died on 22 Aug 1995, aged 83 in Kelmscott.

War Service

Enlisted at Mundijong on 26 Apr 1942 and allocated tot he 2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion. On 1 Jul 1942 he was transferred to the 12th (Jarrah) VDC Battalion, but returned to 2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion on 6 Nov 1943 at which point he was allocated a new Army number (W54518).


Struck of Strength (discharged) on 5 Mar 1944 after 1 year and 314 days part time service
