War Service

Enlisted in the Volunteer Defence Corps at Armadale on 22 Mar 1942, and allocated to 'D' Company of the 2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion with whom he served until 24 Sep 1944 when he was discharged at his own request after 2 years and 187 days.

Post War

Electoral Roll entries: 1949 at Croyden road, Roleystone, orchardist; 1958 at 127 Croyden road, Roleystone, retired.

On 5th Jan 1957 John returned from a holiday in England on the SS Strathaid, arriving in Fremantle on 10 Feb 1957. Mary died 2 Oct 1951 in Roleystone.
