Pre War

War Service

On 6 Mar 1941 Thomas enlisted at the Drill Hall in Mounts Bay road, Perth in the CMF and was allocated to the 16th Australian Infantry Battalion (Cameron Highlanders Regiment).On 17 Jul 1941 he was taken into the No 3 Camp at Melville to undergo basic training, finishing on 14 Oct 1941. He was then called up for full time duty on 16 Dec 1941, but was then immediately released due to his occupation being one declared for essential services. Total service 32 days.

Post War

Thomas married Connie Buckman (1916 - 1980) in Trinity Church, Perth on 29 Aug 1946. They had two daughters including Susan Ann Halliday (1947 - 2015).
