Pre War
War Service
16 year old Denzil enrolled with the 5 Wing ATC Cadets on 29 Apr 1942, before enlisting when he was 18 in the RAAF. He enlisted on 7 Dec 1944 at No. 4 RAAF Recruiting Centre, and was posted the same day to No. 5 Initial Training School RAAF at Clontarf to begin training as a member of aircrew. During his time with the unit he was detached to 110th Australian Base Hospital from 3 Jul until 2 Aug 1944.
On 20 Oct 1944 he was appointed Leading Aircraftman, and his next posting was to No. 1 Wireless Air Gunners School RAAF in Ballarat on 7 Dec 1944. His training continued when on 13 Jun 1945 he was posted to the Point Cook based Signals School RAAF. However, with hostilities at an end, on 17 Sep 1945 he was posted to No. 5 Personnel Depot RAAF to prepare for his discharge which occurred on 3 Oct 1945.
Post War
In 1948 Denzil married Shirley Choules (1931- 2012). Son Robin Frank Fletcher.
