Pre War

In 1930 was attending the Bateman's Homestead School in Oaklands that service children from Groups 29, 30, and 31.Harry was a student of local schools from 1926 until 1934.

War Service

Originally called up on 7 Mar 1942 but released as he was in a protected occupation. On 22 Mar 1942 Harry enlisted in the Volunteer Defence Corps at Armadale and was allocated to the 2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion. On 1 Jul 1942 Harry was promoted Corporal in 'D' Company, but on 16 oct 1942 he reverted to Private at his own request. On 1 May 1945 along with the rest of his unit he was placed on Reserve.



Post War

Electoral Roll entries: 1949 - 1958 at 'The Homestead, Byford, farmer; 1963 - 1968 at 'Piney Downs', Wannamal, farmer and contractor; 1977 - 1980 at Pearse road, Port Denison, retired.

Notes

Harry's brother Frank Lillicott (Jim) Leaver also served in the 2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion.
