Pre War

During 1935 Allan married Melba Miffawayn Giblin.

Electoral Roll entry: 1936 at Nicholson road, Cannington, carrier; 1937 at Railway street, Queens Park, contractor. While Allan was in the Army, Melba appears to have lived in Kelmscott.

War Service

Allan had been a Corporal in the CMF's 24th Company AASC with regimental number W32824 from 30 Sep 1941 until 10 Sep 1942, before he enlisted in the 2nd AIF on 11 Sep 1942. At the time of his initial mobiilisation his address was Jarrahdale where he was a truck driver, leading to his posting as a driver/mechanic. His full time service began on 30 Sep 1941.
