+ | Norm enlisted in the 2nd AIF on 1 Oct 1941 at Claremont, but before he could commmence traiuning he was hospitalised in the [[Claremont Camp Hospital]] on 5 Oct 1941 with Influenza. He was released on 10 Oct 1941 to the AASC Training Depot. Training completed, he was granted three days leave until 17 Feb 1942, and on 27 Mar 1942 he embarked on [[SS Monterey]] for the eastern states. On 4 Apr 1942 Norm was in Tamworth NSW, posted to the [[1st Australian Armoured Division Troops Company AASC]]. On 13 Jul 1942 Norm was admitted to the [[102nd Austalian General Hospital]] with Rubella, and although he returned to his unit on 8 Aug 1942, he was back in the hospital on 12 August with Bronchitis. | ||

War Service
Norm enlisted in the 2nd AIF on 1 Oct 1941 at Claremont, but before he could commmence traiuning he was hospitalised in the Claremont Camp Hospital on 5 Oct 1941 with Influenza. He was released on 10 Oct 1941 to the AASC Training Depot. Training completed, he was granted three days leave until 17 Feb 1942, and on 27 Mar 1942 he embarked on SS Monterey for the eastern states.
