War Service
William was mobilised on 4 Nov 1940, and on 9 Dec 1940 he was posted to the 7th Workshop & Park Company's No 1 Section. On 6 Mar 1941 he was seen by the Camp Dressing Station and forwarded to the 110th Australian Base Hospital, returning to duty on 15 Mar 1941.
discharged 17 Dec 1942 as medically unfit.

When Bill enlisted in the 2nd AIF he reduced his age by 3 years by changing his date of birth. At the time of his transfer to the AIF, Bill was with the 7th Workshop & Park Company. On 23 May 1941 he returned to Karrakatta to join the 2nd AIF.
