Pre War

During November 1929 Reg married Grace Townsend (1908 - 1985) in Perth. Grace died in Armadale on 24 Aug 1985 aged 77.

War Service

On 22 Mar 1942 Reg enlisted in the Volunteer Defence Corps at Armadale and was allocated to the 2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion. On 1 Jul 1942 he was appointed Lance Corporal in 'D' Company, but reverted at his own request to Private on 24 Sep 1942. On 6 Nov 1943 his Army number was changed from W67666 to W61983, before being struck of strength on 2 Dec 1944.
