Thomas was born on 26 October 1881 in Adelaide South Australia. His parents were Joseph Heylen and Amelia Heylen (nee Cavanagh)
Marriage
Thomas married Emily Heylennee Donkin on 8 January 1913 in Durban/Natal South Africa.
Emigration
According to emigration records Thomas left Cape Town South Africa on 17 August 1920 and returned to Victoria. On 26 June 1957 Thomas left Durban South Africa and returned to Fremantle Western Australia. The ship being "Southern Cross".
Occupation
According to Trove records in 1920 Thomas was a Train Driver. In 1943 his occupation was a Truck Driver.
Electoral Roll
According to the electoral roll in 1938 and 1943 Thomas lived at 103 Wotton Street, Wiluna where he was a shopkeeper. In 1958 he moved to Karragullen.
Death
Thomas died on 27 August 1967 at the age of 86.
