Early Life
Born 18 September 1901, Dorothy grew up in Mt Lawley and lived with her parents until she married. Her education took place at Perth College. Dorothy's brother Roy was her only sibling, with both children born to Edward Robert Marsh and Betsy May Cockram.
Marriage
Dorothy married Claude Robert Marsh (born 3 August 1897 – Died 23 October 1976) on 18 August 1934 at St Albans Church in Mt Lawley. The couple had two children: Marlene Dorothy (married Ross Raymond Smith) and Alison May (married Geoffrey J Wholagan).
Property
The Marshes lived at 21 Fourth Road, Armadale in a brick and tile house they built in the 1930s. Their neighbours were the Blackburns.
Community Life
Dorothy was a member Hospital Auxiliary, was involved with the 1st Armadale Guides, was a member of the Armadale Bowling Club, and was also a member of the Armadale branch of the CWA. Dorothy and Claude were keen tennis players and had the good fortune of living next to a tennis court belonging to Robert Blackburn. They later bought that block and built a house for their daughter Marlene.
Death
Dorothy died on 19 October 1976 aged 75 years. Her husband Claude died only four days later. Buried in St Mary in the Valley cemetery's Columbarium Wall.
