Dorothy enlisted with the Royal Australian Navy in Fremantle, as WW2 Service No. WR/258. In 1939 she lived at 980 Hay Street Perth as a Theatre Usher.

In 1946 Dorothy married Sydney Godfrey Anderson in Perth.
