Les lived in Roleystone since 1974 and was a community worker with Roleystone Bushcare and the fire warden for Leschenaultia Street. He was involved with the Graffiti Cleaning Group with the City of Armadale. Les was a Member of the Kelmscott History Group and Armadale Brickworks Group involved in saving the Armadale brick quarry. For many years he was a tireless worker with the Kelmscott Agriculture Show. He worked at Radio Australia in Carnarvon and with the group RLM at Laverton before retiring in 2005.

Leslie Charles, known as Les, was born and raised in Kelmscott.

Marriage

Married Colleen. His wife is a contributor to the Roleystone Courier.

Community Life

Les lived in Roleystone since 1974 and was a community worker with Roleystone Bushcare and the fire warden for Leschenaultia Street.
