John married May Bowler (nee Ullyott) in 1917 in Perth. They had one known daughter Joan Lucien Dowell on 27 March 1925. [described in Trove as daughter (Trove 1947 21 Nov)]
Death
John died on 6 May 1941 at the age of 65.
