War Service
On 24 Nov 1942 Maurice was mobilised on a full time basis, and on 7 Dec 1942 he was sent to the Western Australian Line of Communications Area AASC School. On 22 Apr 1943 he was transferred to the 9th Auxiliary Horse Transport Company where he was granted Proficiency Pay from 1 Jul 1943.
On 3 Apr 1944 he reported a trauma to his right big toe while on duty (caused by horse? as no investigation required). Then on 24 Aug 1944 he was medically reclassified 'B2' - constant pain and suitable for clerical duties. On 25 Sep 1944 he was transferred to the Western Command Recruit Reception & General Details Depot for reassignment. Rather than be reassigned, Maurice was discharged on 26 Sep 1944.

Electoral Roll entries: 1943 - 1958 at Albany road, Armadale, not employed. Betty was listed as a shop keeper. 1968 Maurice only, yet Betty died 22 Aug 1961 in Armadale, Western Australia.
