Returns to unit on 2 Jan 1917 after recovering from wounds. He later developed pleurisy in Jan 1918 which requires him to spend best part of 3 months in hospital and eventually sees him sent home to Australia. Hospitalised on return to Australia until 14 Sep 1918, and discharged as medically unfit 5th Military District 6 Oct 1918.
Kalgoorlie Sun 15 Jul 1917 p.3 reports that Cyril Arthur Woodland of Jarrahdale had been Gassed.
