Early Life
Stanley was born in Victoria on 6 March 1875.. His father was James Alfred Roberts and his mother was Marion Roberts (nee McMurtie).
Marriage
Stanley married Cathleen Roberts (nee Hamilton)in Perth in 1901. They had three children Eileen Marion born 1902, Grace Gwendolynne and Joy (Marjory Hamilton).

His occupation from 1895 until 1937 was with the West Australian Government Railway. He later became an orchardist growing loquats, largest loquat orchard in the state.

Other Notes
He obtained pine trees from the State Nursery at Hamel which now form the row opposite the Kelmscott Post Office. These pine trees were planted by the local school children.
