In 1930 was attending the Bateman's Homestead School in Oaklands that service children from Groups 29, 30, and 31.Harry was a student of local schools from 1926 until 1934.

War Service
Originally called up on 7 Mar 1941 but released as he was in a protected occupation. On 22 Mar 1942 Harry enlisted in the Volunteer Defence Corps at Armadale and was allocated to the 2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion.
