Bruce married Vera Beales first in 1935, who died at age 24 in 1937. His second marriage was with Olga Jane Anderson.

Bruce and Vera had two children: Alan Bruce Beales (unknown -1935) and Frances Emily Beales (1937-1937). Bruce and Olga had one child - Janet.
