Attended Perth Girl's School (8th standard) and Perth Technical College (9th standard). passed junior, English, Arithmetic, Shorthand, Bookkeeping.
War Service
Enlisted as a trainee telegraphist at No. 4 Recruiting Centre Perth on 4 May 1943, and posted to No 4 Wing No 1 Engineering School at Ascot Vale in Victoria. From 10 May until 29 May she undertook a basic Drill course before she began specialist training. Margaret had several visits to the No 2. RAAF Hospital at Ascot Vale - 1 - 4 Jun 1943; 14 Jul 0 5 Aug 1943; and 1 - 12 Oct 1943. The last visit lead to her being transferred to the Hampton Convalescent Home from 12 - 21 Oct 1943. Margaret remustered as a Telegraphist on 26 Mar 1944.
Training complete, on 6 Apr 1944 Margaret was posted to RAAF Headquarters WA. On 7 Jul 1944 she was sent to No 4 Personnel Depot for discharge procedures resulting in her \discharge for compassionate grounds on 1 Aug 1944.
