Pre War
Married Winifred Muriel Lilleyman during 1941. They had three sons and a daughter.
War Service
Enlisted part time in the CMF (VDC) on 21 Nov 1940 and was called up for full time duty on 16 Dec 1941 and allocated to the 16th Battalion for training. Max had several periods of leave without pay between March and October 1942, resulting in him being transferred to Area Essential Services unit with discharge occurring.
Enlisted again on 24 Mar 1943 and was posted to the 2nd Battalion VDC. No discharge date in his records.
Post War
