War Service
Entered Blackboy Hill camp on 16 Oct 1916 and on 11 Nov 1916 was allocated to the 6th reinforcement draft for the 44th Battalion. He travelled with the draft to England, where on arrival they were sent to the 11th Training Battalion at Lark Hill, before being moved to Sutton Manderville.

On return to Australia spent some time in the 8th General Hospital in Fremantle before being discharged by the 5th Military District on 4 Oct 1917 for medical reasons.
