Stanley was born in Victoria on 6 March 1875. His father was James Alfred Roberts and his mother was Marion Roberts (nee McMurtie).
Marriage
Stanley married Cathleen Roberts (nee Hamilton) in Perth in 1901. They had three children: Eileen Marion born 1902, Grace Gwendolyne and Joy (Marjory Hamilton).
Electoral Rolls
According to the electoral roll Stanley had 7 acres on part of Lefroy Road Kelmscott, later renamed Roberts Road. The house was built in 1903. His occupation from 1895 until 1937 was with the West Australian Government Railway. He later became an orchardist growing loquats, largest loquat orchard in the state.
