According to the electoral roll Stanley had 7 acres on part of Lefroy Road Kelmscott, later renamed Roberts Road. The house was built in 1903. His occupation from 1895 until 1937 was with the West Australian Government Railway.  He later became an orchardist growing loquats, largest loquat orchard in the state.

Stanley was the Chairman of Kelmscott Progress Association, Chairman and Life Member of the Kelmscott Agricultural Society, a life Member of the Railway and Tramways Institute.  He was also secretary of the Church of England Church and church Warden and a member of Synod.
