Remarks

SS Trienza, along with SS Triadic operated a service between Australia and the Pacific Ocean island of Nauru during the 1940's and 1950's. They used to carry cargo and some passengers between Australia and Nauru, and they would bring mined superphosphate back to Australia from Nauru. However, between 26 Aug 1942 and 13 Sep 1945 Nauru was occupied by Japanese forces.

On 12 Jun 1940 SS Trienza reported seeing the Italian MV Romolo, and this assisted the HMAS Manoora to intercept the Italian vessel some 220 miles (370 kms) southwest of Naru Island. When challenged the Ronmolo was set on fire and abandoned by her crew.
