Remarks

Launched in March 1921, it took 18 months to prepare her initially for service in the Baltic Sea. In her original configuration she could accomodate six passengers only. Her later mixed bag of entries imply that she 'tramped' aound most of the world.

At night (10:00pm) on 8 Mar 1925 the SS Aalsom collided in fog with SS Dannedaike neaar the Nantucket Shoals Lightship. Damage was relatively light. She had delivered mail to Kenya in East Africa in March 1928. On 7 Jun 1947 while moored at the KNSM Island in AMsterdam a fire broke out in her cargo of chilli saltpeper causing heavy damage.

In May 1958 the ship was sold for scrap to Eckhardt & Co for £41,000, arriving at their Hamburg shipbreaking yard on June 6th.
