Further research required. Convoy US 16. It was made up of the following (troop) transports; Aronda (British, 9,031 GRT, built 1941) and Devonshire (British, 11,275 GRT, built 1939), escorted by HMAS Kanimbla. Arrived Fremantle 3rd September. Convoy 17 arrived in Fremantle 4th September.

The now combined convoy US 16 / US 17 departed Fremantle on 7 September. It was now escorted by the light cruisers HMAS Adelaide, HrMs Tromp, armed merchant Eric Stanley Southern and cruisers HMS Kanimbla, HMAS Manoora and the destroyer HMAS Voyager
