Remarks

Owned by the McIiwraith, McEacharn's Line Pty Ltd, Melbourne, to operate between Port Adelaide and fremantleand leased by the Commonwealth from May 1915 until Jun 1919. During her war service she was manned by Australian officers and crew.


During its Commonwealth service it was initially used twice to transport troops to Egypt, but in 1916 she continued on to England and was converted to a Hospital Ship for the England to Australia run and was used on four occasions for this purpose before the end of the war. During November 1915 she rescued survivors of the Highland Warrior aground on the Spanish coast near Cape ortegal
