Marriage
George married Elizabeth Harrison in early 1869 in Market Harborough, Northamptonshire, England. The couple had arrived in W.A. by November 1869.
Residences
George Pridmore's burial records list him as being a resident of Bedfordale. His address was listed as "36 mile, Albany Road" in a probate listing in the Western Mail, 19 June 1909. Earlier mentions in newspapers have Mr Pridmore as living in Jarrahdale rather than Bedfordale, but all of these mentions are assumed to refer to the same 36-Mile peg address, which Mr Pridmore was farming after it had been decommissioned as a Police outpost.
Occupation
Listed as an Orchardist. He had also been a Police Constable serving at the 36-mile station in the late 1800s.
Family
George and Elizabeth had six children: Lavinia Mary (b.1872), Henry Arthur (b.1874), Lewis William (b.1877), Florence Maud (b.1880), Francis Frederick (b.1883) and Albert James (b.1885).
Death
George Pridmore died on 4 May 1909.
Notes
In November 1899, a coroner's jury in Jarrahdale heard a case in which a Mr George Pridmore and son Frank were charged with the killing of a Chinese man named Ah Tien, at 'the old lock-up' on the Albany Road sometime between October 8 and 16 in that year. The pair plead Not Guilty, but a verdict of Manslaughter was returned, with George Pridmore serving 6 months.
Mr Pridmore left 447 pounds to Harriet Ann Richardson in his will in 1909. Mrs Richardson was Mr Pridmore's housekeeper and mother of William Thomas Richardson, who took over farming of that land at the 36-Mile peg on which the former Police lockup stood.
Mrs Elizabeth Pridmore had died in 1908 at Jarrahdale Hospital. It is believed that she may have been separated from George by that time, following his conviction for Manslaughter. .
