Brief History
the 10th Australian Ordnance Vehicle Park was raised in August 1944 from the 4th Ordnance Vehicle Park at Mt Gravatt in Queensland to be a part of the 2nd Base Sub Area. Its strength in January 1945 was six officers and 103 other ranks. In March 1945 two detachments of the unit proceeded to Morotai which was being used as the staging area for landings at Balikpapan, Labuan, Tarakan and Brunei Bay. Those two detachments landed at Labuan and Balikpapan. In April the main body of the unit was reinforced at North Ryde (316 all ranks), and leaving a detachment at North Ryde the remainder of the unit returned to Mt Gravatt. In June they left a detachment at Mt Gravatt, while the rest of the unit moved to Morotai from where the detachment at Balikpapan was supplemented. The units remained in those locations until the end of the war.
