Brief History

This unit was raised in December 1941 at Northam, par t of the broader Western Command Training Centre. In May 1942 it became WA Line of Communication Area AASC Training Depot. In November 1942 following a re-organisation it became 8th AASC Taining Company, and then in March 1943 renamed again to 3rd AASC Training Depot. In May 1943 ther unit's name changed yet again, thsi time to 2nd AASC Training Centre until January 1944 when it was closed and therefore from that point Western Australian AASC recruits were sent to Bonegila in Victoria.
