Remarks
A US Liberty Ship named after an early American Journalist and first editor of the Los Angeles Times, Charles Fletcher Lummis. Laid down on 13 April she was launched on 5 May 1943. Her first voyage was from Los Angeles to Hobart, and then on to Karachi and Milne Bay in PNG.
Armament - Stern-mounted 4-in (102 mm) deck gun for use against surfaced submarines, variety of anti-aircraft guns.
