Remarks

Undertook her sea trials on 19 Apr 1943, and her maiden voyaf=ge was to Fremantle in June. Her primary function was to service Australian ports with occassional trips to India nad the islands to Australia's north, particularly later in the war.

In October 1947 "River Clarence" was transferred to the Australian Shipping Board, and in February 1957 transferred again, this time to the Australian National Line.


In 1960 she was sold to World-Wide Steamships Co Ltd and renamed Golden Alpa. Many other ownership changes occurred prior to being scrapped in Japan in 1968.
