Brief History

This unit was formed in August 1942 at Bonegilla in Victoria. At this time all signals training had been centralised at Bonegilla. This had changed by late 1943 as all recruits were trained under a common regime which saw them allocated to Corps following the completion of basic training. The Central Signals Training Battalion was involved o raising numerous new signals units, and continued to provide raining until after the completion of the war.
