In mid-1941 three of the small dental units working at the Northam Dental Centre, were the 293rd Dental Unit, the 302nd Dental Unit and the 303rd Dental Unit. In May 1942 the 302nd Dental Unit moved to Chidlows, and the 303rd Dental Unit to Fremantle. meanwhile in late 1941 the 291st Dental Unit had been raised to work in Perth, and the 292nd Dental Unit to service Swanbourne. The 304th Dental Unit was raised in early 1942 to work on Rottnest Island.
