==Brief History==
 
Following the Kokoda Campaign the Jungle Training centre was established in November 1942 at Canungra as the final step in a recruits training before they joined units in New Guinea. In August 1943 the centre was expanded with a further battalion, the 3rd and a 4th battalion was added later.
