Brief History

One Section of the proposed Western Command Troops Petrol Company was mobilised in December 1941. This section was transferred to the 4th Infantry Division AASC in April 1942, and although the unit remained inactive it was renamed 3 Australian Corps Troops Petrol Company. In January 1943 the unit was raised to its war establishment level at Melville, and it moved to Werribee near Northam in March. While here, they were re-organised as 37th Australian Company AASC in April taking men from the 3rd Australian Corps Troops Supply Column and the 3rd Australian Corps Ammunition Company to form a Company HQ, A composite platoon, three transport platoon, and a workshops platoon.

In October they moved back to Melville to work in the metropolitan area, but with most units leaving Western Australia as the threat of invasion faded, the unit was disbanded in June 1944.
