Name 116th Australian General Hospital
Where formed Charters Towers, Queensland
Date formed January 1942
Locations Charters Towers, Gungarra near Cairns.

General Information

By 17 Mar 1942 the 116th AGH had moved itself into the Mount Carmel College in Charters Towers, adjacent to the local airfield. The Charters Towers air base, allowed patients to be flown in from New Guinea, both Australian and allied servicemen alike.
