Brief History

The 10th Field Ambulance nominally supported the 10th Brigade although it was in fact under command of the Third Division. The 10th Brigade comprised of the 37th 38th 39th and 40th Battalions.

The 10th Brigade first deployed with the 3rd Division at Messines in July 1917. For this operation the 10th Field Ambulance was based at Pont d'Achelles which was a large casualty retrieval centre.

Thirty seven men died while posted to this unit.
